Hot Buttered Rum

What are holiday cocktails made of?...

Sugar, spice, and everything nice!

That’s certainly true of this delightful Hot Buttered Rum.

Local Choice Pixie Spiced Rum is warm and caramelly, with the perfect blend of spices.  So, naturally, combined with some seasonal flavors and sugar, it’s also the perfect rum of choice for this warming, buttery, sweet cocktail.

Hot Buttered Rum

Ingredients

2-3oz Pixie Spiced Rum

1 cup Water

2 tbsp Brown sugar

2 tbsp Butter

1/2 tsp Cinnamon

Pinch of Nutmeg

Pinch of Salt


For the rim (optional):

Butterscotch syrup

Cinnamon

Sugar

Mix it all up...

  1. Optional, create a cinnamon sugar rim for your glass:


    Combine equal parts cinnamon and sugar in a wide, shallow bowl or dish.  Dip rim of glass in butterscotch syrup, then twist into cinnamon sugar combo until rim is coated as desired.

  2. Add water, brown sugar, nutmeg, salt and cinnamon to a saucepan and place over medium/high heat until the mixture comes to a low boil, then reduce heat and let simmer for a couple of minutes.

  3. Remove from heat and stir in butter until melted

  4. Stir in 2-3oz Pixie Spiced Rum, and pour into your glass
