Pixie Bubbles and orange juice make for a delicious mimosa, but sometimes you want something a little more special!
We love this twist on one of our favorite boozy brunch classics.
What we especially love about this cocktail? We usually have these ingredients on hand; it’s quick and easy to make; you can keep it super simple, or dress it up as much as you like with the rim and garnish.
Lime or Orange & Sugar (optional for rim)
1. Rim your glass with lime or orange and sugar
(Scroll to the bottom for some tips and ideas*)
2. Add 1 oz. Local Choice Lime Tequila to your glass (try to avoid the rim you crafted!)
3. Fill just over 1/2 way with Pixie Bubbles
4. Top off with your favorite OJ and a splash of grenadine to taste
5. Optional, garnish with a slice of lime or orange
And just like that, you’re all set for a boozy brunch. All that’s left to do is enjoy!
*If you’re not sure how to rim the glasses or want to change it up, here are some suggestions:
If you’re planning ahead and have time, chilling your glasses first will make this step a little easier.
For a simple sugar rim:
Pour some sugar on a small plate or wide, shallow bowl. You’ll need several tablespoons and can use superfine sugar, or turbinado sugar for a more dramatic effect.
If you don’t fancy a sugar rim:
Swap sugar for kosher salt, or combine both for a savory sweet treat, or skip this step entirely, it’s up to you!
If you want to take it to the next level:
Combine equal parts lime or orange zest with the sugar and/or salt.
Once your coating is ready to go:
Moisten the rim of your glass with a wedge of lime or orange, then twist the rim of your glass back and forth in the coating until it’s covered to your preference.
You can dip your glass in a shallow bowl filled about 1/4 inch with lime juice, grenadine, OJ, or your preferred combo. Then dip your glass in the coating as above.
